Grout Color Sealing

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, grouted surfaces will just not return to their original color due too long time embedded stains and improper cleaning. In this case – we can use a colored sealant to return your grout back to its original color or in many cases change the color of the grout to give the floor a new look for a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Prestige Grout uses a color seal that has be created by chemists to permanently fill and eliminate the dirt trapping pores of the grout, not just temporarily waterproofing the pores like clear sealers and over the counter coloring products that wash away after a few months of normal maintenance. Our color seal is the only product available that is not water soluble after proper curing (72 hours).

Prestige uses a 4 step restoration process to revitalize your grouted surfaces and create an easily cleanable surface. This process not only restores your floors and showers to their original beauty but also contains fungicides, bactericides and anti microbial built into the color seal formula to insure sanitation for many years to come.

A colored sealer that contains urethane and concrete hardening agents. This product is as thick as pancake batter to fill and eliminate the dirt trapping pores of the grout not just waterproof the pores like clear sealers do. This product contains constant acting mildicides that provide a sanitary surface for years. It can be made in any color and will completely waterproof the grout surface. Color seal can be used on all applications except shower floors – For shower floors we recommend epoxy grout.

Disadvantages:

Not always recommended for shower floors or wet areas with non sanded grout that was improperly installed. For shower floors and badly grouted non sanded walls we use regrouting and epoxy grout instead, which is waterproof and stain-proof.

What is Grout Color Sealing?

Grout color sealing is a colored sealer applied to clean grout lines that restores grout to its original color, or changes it to a new one, while sealing it against stains, water and mildew. It’s a fraction of the cost of regrouting or retiling, and most jobs are done in a single day.

Our Color Sealing Process

  1. Deep clean. We spray the proper cleaner for your surface, then 350° steam clean the grout to pull out dirt, mildew and old sealer.
  2. Repair. Missing or cracked grout is fixed first so the color goes on a solid, even surface.
  3. Color seal. We apply the color seal by hand, two coats on floors, for an even color that makes future maintenance easier.
  4. Cure. You can walk on floors the same day. We’ll tell you how long to keep water off and when you can use your shower again.

Where We Color Seal

Bathroom floors, shower walls, kitchen floors, backsplashes, entryways, laundry rooms and commercial spaces. Nearly any grouted area, with a few exceptions. On shower floors we recommend regrouting with epoxy grout instead.

DIY Color Sealer vs. Hiring a Pro

You can buy grout colorant at the store, but most DIY products only coat the surface and start peeling or fading within months, especially if the grout wasn’t deep cleaned first. Our color seal fills the pores of the grout instead of sitting on top, goes on after a 350° steam cleaning, and is applied in two coats on floors. The result is an even color that lasts for years with proper care.
